Sorry, I have a wife that uses her iPad and it took 20 minutes for the complaints to start when I switched to DD-WRT, so I had to go back to OEM.īut WOW.GREAT JOB.I hope this gets fixed.When it works I WILL BE SWITCHING BACK TO DD-WRT.Netgear OEM is a joke and I will be purchasing a second R6300 when I see this work correctly.I really need a second R6300 for my living room area (LED TV, Computer and PS3) and I want to bridge the 5GHz 802.11ac (With WPA which Netgear OEM will not do) and use the 2.5GHz for clients with WPA2-AES.
These are the only two problems I noticed immediately and forced me to go back to OEM. Tried to increase AND decrease TX (30 and 140 power, which I know is a bad thing.of did not help. Using DD-WRT I get the same RSSI, but MCS link rates of 0 which limit me to 5mbps and make the router useless. Using both DD-WRT and Netgear OEM firmware I get -55 to -70 RSSI at roughly 60-70 feet away with 1 or 2 walls (its my smart led tv, media center computer and PS3), but using the OEM firmware I get MCS link rates of 25 - 115 mbps. I am not sure of I am having a TX signal problem or if there is a problem with the MCS auto rates. Noticed if I make any change to the 5GHz radio that the router would become unresponsive for 2-4 minutes and sometimes required a hard reset.
WebGui shows 5GHz Radio is on, and shows using Channel 36, but does not show secondary channels regardless of my channel bandwidth.

I too hate NetGear's Firmware for the R6300. Has anybody tried this yet and is it stable? Any input would be greatly appreciated! I'd even be willing to buy dd-wrt's firmware if it was stable. Hello.first I love my r6300, but I hate their software! I want my dd-wrt back.but also I'm a novice and can not afford to toast my hardware.
